Newsletters
Hello, Everyone My name is Tina Chapman. I am the new president of the Griswold Fish and Game Club. You can email me at griswoldfishandgame@gmail.com or contact me @ Business #860-376-1887 or after 7:00pm cell #860-794-2728 The purpose of this newsletter is to let our members know what is going on at the club. There is information about the club and a calendar of events on our website www.griswoldfishgameclub.com and on facebook.com. But there are still some of our members who choose not to use the internet, so the newsletter will keep everyone informed. Everyone that attends our events always has a great time.We have two work days each year. The first is February 20th at noon. This is the Kitchen and Hall cleanup for our annual inspection. The annual grounds clean up is scheduled for April 2nd at 8:00am . All volunteers come together and clean the grounds surrounding the club in preparation for Opening Day at the trout pond. The opening day of the trout pond is always a lot of fun and some seriously good eating! That will be on April 9th at 6:00 AM. You can get your permit that day if you have renewed your membership. Everyone has fun at the Bullhead Party, too, especially me. Gene will
tell you I always catch the most fish and light up the pond while I’m
doing it. It will be held on Saturday May 21st from 6:00 to 10:00 PM
this year. May 1st,15th and 22nd. It is from 1:00 to 3:00 PM We’re planning something each month: March 19th is a
Corned beef and cabbage dinner, April lots of fishing, May7th our annual
plant/yard sale, May 28th will be our Prime Rib Dinner and
June 25th a Chicken Barbecue Dinner. We are paying back the CD the amount we borrowed to purchase the furnace replacement last July. At that time, we were told that our oil tank was old and needed replacement. Ideally, we would like to replace it with a pair of tanks that would allow us to get through more of the heating season before needing to fill, and that could save us quite a bit of money. If you can’t get to the club on workdays, contributions would be greatly appreciated and well utilized. The second purpose of this newsletter is to ask for your participation in the club. We welcome your ideas, your talents, and any contributions you can give to the club. Do you have an idea that will benefit the club? Are you a carpenter, a plumber, an electrician or a landscaper? Can you serve on a committee, attend a dinner, come to a yard sale, sign up a new member, or give a donation? All would be greatly appreciated. One issue I would like to address. The downstairs members’ area had
two animal skins that were hanging on the walls since we opened the
area. They were generously donated by club members and now they are no
longer hanging on the walls. We would like to see them back. No
questions will be asked. I look forward to a fun and successful year. Tina Chapman
